Rookie League baseball is for the 3 & 4 year old age group. It's our version of T-Ball. Players receive a hat and shirt and play up to 8 games during the season, typically on Saturday mornings at 9:00am. Games last 60 minutes. Schedules may have to be adjusted due to rain outs, tournaments, and holiday weekends. Some teams practice, some teams don't. Games are relaxed, as players learn basics like swinging a bat, running to first base, picking up the ball, and throwing.

Our 11/12 year old Baseball program is Kid Pitch, sanctioned by Dizzy Dean Baseball. In the spring, this age group's season begins a few weeks later than the younger players. We don't draft teams until after the Middle Schools have completed their rosters. This makes sure children who want to play baseball still have an outlet. Please exhibit patience at the start of the season, as we are at the mercy of the Middle Schools to complete their tryouts before we can begin our season.

This age group is kid pitch. Unfortunately, if your child has never played before, we are NOT able to allow them to play down in the coach pitch division. This rule applies to all parks that play in the Scenic City Softball league to ensure a level playing field.

There are rules in place to make the transition from coach pitch to kid pitch smoother, such as if a batter receives 3 balls in a row, a coach can relieve a kid pitcher to give the batter a chance to put the ball in play.

This division has been organized as a softball program for youth girls whose ages 14 to 16, but 13 and under have the option of playing with the older girls. Only 9 players play on defense.
