Tryouts will be held August 17 and 24 (if needed). There will be an open practice on August 16 for 12u. Register today for free to receive tryout information for the Fall season.

We launched the Ooltewah Softball Club in the spring of 2025 to provide experienced OYA players and coaches the opportunity to explore a more competitive environment, while maintaining their ability to learn and grow in a traditional recreational (rec) sports outlet.
Here's how it works:
Teams hold tryouts in early February (for spring) and August (for fall) to field a tournament team roster. Think of it like a non-summer All-star team.
Club teams will play in select tournaments between March and early-May in the fall and September/October/November in the fall. A handful of weekends each season will be blacked out, so regular season teams can play in Rec tournaments, if they choose. Blackout dates for fall are September 6/7, September 13/14, September 27/28 and October 25/26.
Each club team will be guaranteed practice time, scheduled by OYA, so as not to conflict with our Rec programs.
We offer club teams in 8u, 10u, and 12u. Age groups are based on USA Softball eligibility, which runs from September 1 to August 31. Coaches this fall are:
8u - Brad Wagner
10u - Dan Presbitero
12u - Joe Legge
If you are interested in assisting with one of the teams, send a message to [email protected] for more information.
Since club play is in addition to Rec play, there is a separate registration fee to cover uniform expenses, team entry fees for five to six tournaments, field space for practice, and insurance. You only pay this fee if selected for the team.
We’re excited to offer this outlet for our players and coaches to continue to grow.
*In order to be eligible for a club team in the spring, players must be currently enrolled in our rec program and/or have played at OYA within the last year. Players selected for club play will also be rostered on regular season rec teams and will play the Scenic City schedule with those teams, retaining their eligibility for summer All-stars. Fall teams may have a few players who are only on the Premier roster due to school functions.
